Our local ski area, Grosseck/Speiereck, may be small, but it’s also lots of fun. Aside from 25 km of blue-rated pistes and 17 km rated red, crack skiers will also find 7 km of expert runs. Our local ski area also boasts deep-snow runs and plenty of variant skiing. Children learn their first turns almost effortlessly, without fear and quickly at Mauterndorf ski school. Ski touring is permitted and often made easier with floodlighting: Every Wednesday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. alongside the Grosseckbahn lift from Mauterndorf, and every Thursday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. along the Sonnenbahn from St. Martin up the Speiereck.
Obertauern lies close to where you are staying, one of the most famous ski areas in Salzburger Land.

The ski area opens at the end of November and the lifts run until early May. Aside from the beautifully groomed, variety-packed pistes, skiers can look forward to powder slopes and moguls runs. Rustic ski huts and restaurants invite you to stop in for the occasional refreshment break. Snowboarders search out THE SPOT – a gathering place for the boarder scene. At the Snowpark next to the Kehrkopfbahn, 40 different elements promise nothing but FUN FUN FUN!
A “wee bit” of après-ski in Obertauern wouldn’t hurt either, right! So, let the party begin!
Families are irresistibly drawn to the small, but delightful ski area in Mariapfarr, including a long “Witches’ Hill” for the youngsters and amazing deep-snow runs for everyone with wilder ambitions!
Fanningberg Ski Area near Mariapfarr

This ski area outside the sunniest town in all of Austria is sure to captivate you. Friendly traditional huts invite you to stop by and “take the weight off”. And you simply have to visit, and maybe even feed, the reindeers on the Fanningberg!
This ski area is intended for families as well as skilled skiers, and is sure to excite you. Long runs, including the 6 km-long "A1", are certain to create some “burn” in your leg muscles. The "Direttissima" – 100 percent gradient and 2.5 km long – is one of the toughest pistes far and wide.
Aineck-Katschberg Ski Area

- Elevations from 1,070 m to 2,220 m
Look forward to a variety-filled ski vacation in the ski area between Salzburg and Carinthia. Every Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., ski touring is allowed on the Aineck. Every Tuesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m., enjoy night skiing at the Königswiesen lift on the Katschberg.
