Skiing in the Lungau
In the winter we also offer you a comprehensive and richly varied range of activities away from the skiing piste.
This begins with an ice-skating rink, a challenging tobogganing run, horse-drawn sleigh rides, cosy and traditional huts and pubs/eating places, right through to some great games of ice hockey, and après-ski with the locals.
Take the skibus to the piste, to go shopping and to go for a stroll
Anyone who shows the Lungo pass (a ski-pass for the following skiing areas: Grosseck-Speiereck, Katschberg, Aineck, Fanningberg, Obertauern) can make use of a perfectly coordinated skibus system, free of charge. Each hour, the buses link up practically every locality in a circuit of over 15 kilometres. And anyone wanting to do so can go shopping in the district’s main locality, Tamsweg, take a winter stroll along the Mur, or visit one of the many castles and palaces in the LUNGO region, without a problem and, above all, without cost.
If you have the LUNGO ski pass, you can travel around the whole Lungau region without restriction (and also without ski clothing, to go shopping and strolling)!
If you have the Oberlungau ski card (excluding Obertauern), you can travel in ski clothing from the place where you are based, into the skiing areas Katschberg, Aineck, Speiereck and Fanningberg!
